From I-85: Take I-85 north. Take slight left at I-985 N/Lanier Pkwy (signs for I-985 N/Gainesville/Lanier Pkwy). Continue on I-985N 19.7 miles to exit 20 forGA-60 toward GA-53/Gainesville/Candler Rd. Turn left at GA-365 BUS N/GA-60N/Queen City Pkwy and follow for 2.1 miles. Turn right at SW Jesse Jewell Pkwy and go 0.2 miles to W Academy Street. Turn left at W Academy St. Within 0.2 miles, The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center will be on the right at the intersection of W. Academy and Spring Streets.

From GA-400: Take GA-400 North to exit 17 for GA-306 toward Gainesville. Turn right at GA-306 E/Keith Bridge Rd. Go 1.0 mile and turn right at Browns Bridge Rd/GA-369E. Continue to follow GA-369 E 16.2 miles. Turn left at W Academy St. Within 0.2 miles, The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center will be on the right at the intersection of W. Academy and Spring Streets.

Common Questions

  • Yes! All shows at The Smithgall Arts Center are rain or shine. Shows are only canceled in the case of unsafe weather conditions, and in that case, we will reschedule the show if the venue and the performer are available. Check our website and social media to stay informed. 

  • All ticket sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges. 

  • Tickets can be purchased at www.TheArtsCouncil.net and at the Arts Council Administrative Offices Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. The Box Office opens for will call and ticket sales one hour prior to showtime on event days. 

    Season Tables and individual Show Tables are available for purchase. 

  • Yes, children 5 and under can enter for free! Most of our performances are family-friendly unless otherwise stated. 

  • Times are subject to change. For MOST events, gates open one hour before the performance. Please check the event listing page on our website for per event gate times. 

  • Please contact The Arts Council at 770-534-2787. 

  • If purchasing an individual ticket, please bring an outdoor blanket, chair, or reserve a table up front. 

  • Yes, please see a member of The Arts Council at the ticket table near the Spring St. Entrance for assistance. 

  • No, all shows have food vendors and a bar on site. We encourage guests to support these local businesses and purchase their dinner at the show! 

  • Yes. If any of your guests require special accommodation, please contact us in advance of the performance day (770)534-2787. 

  • No smoking or vaping is allowed. 

  • Professional cameras with professional lenses, detachable lenses, detachable flashes and or tripods are prohibited. The use of video cameras and audio recording devices are strictly prohibited. Cell phone cameras are permissible. 

  • Depending on the event, alcohol may be served by The Arts Council approved vendor(s). Georgia state law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of 21. Therefore, guests will be required to show valid identification when buying alcoholic beverages. 

  • Call 770-534-2787 or email info@theartscouncil.net after the show, and one of our staff will respond shortly. Please be prepared to leave your full name, contact information, and a detailed description of your lost item. The Arts Council, Inc. does not claim responsibility for lost possessions. 

  • Public street parking can be found surrounding the Smithgall Arts Center and at Poultry Park. A complementary Parking Deck is also available on Main Street within walking distance of the facility. 

  • Documented Service Animals specifically trained to aid persons with disabilities are welcome. No other pets will be permitted.

Take exit 22 for 0.3 miles and turn left at EE Butler Pkwy. Go 1.8 miles and turn left at Brenau Avenue. Go 354 feet and take 1st right onto Green St NW. The Arts Council Performing Arts Complex will be on the left.

From GA-400: Take GA-400 North to exit 17 for GA-306 toward Gainesville. Turn right at GA-306 E/Keith Bridge Rd. Go 1.0 mile and turn right at Browns Bridge Rd/GA-369E. Turn right at Browns Bridge Rd/GA-369E. Continue to follow GA-369 about 26.5 miles to EE Butler PKWY. Turn left onto EE Butler and go 0.3 miles. Turn left at Brenau Avenue. Go 354 feet and take 1st right onto Green St NW. The Arts Council Performing Arts Complex will be on the left.
