Live at The Smithgall Arts Center “Evenings of Intimate Jazz” – A Concert Series Showcasing Top Jazz Talent from January to May 2026 

Gainesville, GA – 10/14/25 – This winter and spring, the heart of Gainesville will swing to the sounds of saxophones, smooth vocals, and syncopated rhythms as The Arts Council proudly presents “Evenings of Intimate Jazz”, a live jazz series with four indoor performances running monthly from January through April 2026 and an outdoor performance in May. 

Hosted at Smithgall Arts Center, each performance will spotlight a distinctive voice in modern jazz, offering a rich blend of legendary musicianship and next-generation talent. From soul-infused standards to genre-bending originals, “Evenings of Intimate Jazz” invites audiences to experience the genre in its most vibrant, evolving form. 

Featured performers include: 

  • January 16 & 17 - Roman Street – A quartet brings their electrifying blend of Nuevo Flamenco, smooth jazz, and acoustic fusion 

  • February 13 & 14 - Ashleigh Elizabeth Smith – Vocalist known for her fusion of jazz, R&B, and funk rhythms 

  • March 20 & 21 - Sammy Hanson Quartet– Celebrated musician and most promising young jazz pianist in the Atlanta area 

  • April 17 & 18 - Jazz at the Movies – Brings together string quartet and rhythm section to celebrate cinematic jazz performances 

  • May 16 - Joe Gransden Ensemble– Ensemble bringing timeless jazz and excitement of big band jazz into the modern age on an outdoor stage 

Performances begin at 8:00 p.m. (Doors open at 7:00 p.m.) at the Smithgall Arts Center. Tickets are available individually or as a full-series package.
