The Sounds of Sawnee Concert Band is a community band in every sense, and it is proud to now be established as a community resource. The band provides cultural enrichment for members of the community through regular concert performances. It provides a unique opportunity for musical expression for both distinguished musicians and amateurs alike, to further develop and refine music skills in a friendly setting. The band continually seeks to instill in all people an awareness of music’s important role in the enrichment of the human spirit. The band welcomes all people who share a love of band music and play, or have played a band instrument. Whether you are an accomplished musical performer or just someone that “used to play” years ago; whether you are young or just young-at-heart; whether you know all of John Philip Sousa’s marches from memory or if you barely remember how to play the B-flat concert scale, you are invited to take a chair at our next rehearsal and begin enjoying yourself. |
