The world renowned Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performs more than 200 concerts annually for a combined audience of more than a half million. An orchestra must reinvent itself to stay alive. Under the guidance of Music Director Robert Spano, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has done just that and more. In Gainesville, the symphony will celebrate its 37th Anniversary with the Arts Council. What makes these performances spectacular is that they are open-air, under the moonlight. The orchestra takes our audiences on a stimulating musical adventure of the sort one cannot find anywhere else in the area by pulling them into the experience with remarkable success. The strings are always lush, the woodwind playing beautifully chiseled, and the brasses displaying the kind of spectacular power and precision that has made this orchestra legendary.
