Brenau University is a private comprehensive university that includes the Women's College, the Evening and Weekend College, Online College, and the Academy. These three divisions, distinct yet complementary, offer diverse educational opportunities founded in the liberal arts which lead to intellectual and professional development, foster personal growth, and encourage community responsibility and global understanding.
     Brenau University is organized into four schools: Business and Mass Communication; Education and Human Development; Fine Arts and Humanities; and, Health and Science. The School of Fine Arts and Humanities (www.brenau.edu/sfah) includes the departments of Art and Design, Performing Arts (with programs in Dance, Music, and Theatre), and Humanities. Brenau University is a center for the arts in north Georgia.
     On the Brenau University calendar of the arts, you will find information about events in dance, music, theatre, and the visual arts. Many events are held in Pearce Auditorium, which is one of the most unusual and beautiful auditoriums in the South. The new John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts includes the Hosch Theatre, the Banks Recital Hall, and the Leo Castelli Art Gallery.  All arts events are open to the public. As an integral part of the Brenau University academic community, the Brenau University Galleries serve as a visual arts resource for the educational and cultural enrichment of the university, north Georgia, and the southeast. The mission of the galleries is to provide exhibitions and programs that identify and enhance artistic talent; respond to issues of special relevance to women; advance scholarship in the visual arts; and encourage understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
     Brenau University Galleries is part of the Art & Design Department in the School of Fine Arts and Humanities. Educational programs in Art & Design include bachelor's degrees in Art Education, Arts Management, Graphic Design, Fashion Merchandising, Interior Design and Studio Art.

The Crawford W. Long Museum is one of the sites of the first painless surgery, which was performed on March 30, 1842, by Dr. Long. The Museum contains permanent exhibits on Dr. Long, his family, lifestyles of Georgians during the time he lived, and his work in pharmacy.  Also included are exhibits on anesthesia development. The Museum includes a recreated 1840's doctor's office and 19th century general store. Changing exhibits on local history. Also housed in the Museum are the Jackson County Historical Society and a genealogy research library. Meeting facility, garden, group tours and gift shop.

Elachee Nature Science Center, one of the premier environmental education centers in the southeast, is a private-not-for profit organization.  Each year nearly 65,000 students, teachers and families from northeast Georgia, metro Atlanta, and even neighboring states enjoy educational field trips and public programs at the Gainesville-based center.

The 1,300-acre Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve, one of the largest land trusts in north Georgia and one of the largest parks within city limits east of the Mississippi River, surrounds the Center and serves as an ideal outdoor classroom.

Features of the Center include a visitors' center with natural history displays, special traveling exhibitions, 12 miles of hiking trails, an aquatic study center on Chicopee Lake, teacher education programs, summer day camp, facility rentals, fundraising events and volunteer opportunities.

Interactive Neighborhood for Kids (INK) is a hands-on non-profit museum designed for families to explore together, learn together, celebrate childhood and most of all have fun together.

INK’s exhibits stimulate curiosity, motivate leaning and provide an atmosphere where families can connect in meaningful ways. Our visitors have a blast pretending to be real firefighter on our 1927 American LaFrance fire truck; or imagine they are a pilot in our very own 1955 rebuilt AreoCommander airplane; or pretend to be a doctor, a nurse, a teacher or even a grocery store clerk! The things you can see and do at INK are unlimited!

Plus, our museum is the perfect place for your child’s birthday party; a have a variety of packages are available just right for you!  INK’s gift shop features Melissa Doug toys, plush animals, puzzles and many other educational items. Come and discover for yourself an exciting and unique Museum located just off 985-exit 22 in the Featherbone Communiversity Center.

The Quinlan Visual Arts Center is a non-profit organization that provides the northeast Georgia area with a quality visual arts calendar of outstanding exhibitions, classes, and workshops showcasing many emerging, mid-career, and master artists.  The visual arts center housed two large gallery spaces, several classrooms, a gift shop and a library.  Weekly adult and youth classes plus special visiting artist workshops are offered in a variety of media.  Each summer, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center offers 4 two-week sessions of Summer Art Camps for children.

The Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to nurturing creativity and protecting the natural and historical resources of the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys and surrounding area.
     The SNCA maintains a thriving Arts & Community Center housed in a restored turn-of-the-century rural schoolhouse, offering a Theatre, Art Gallery, Museum, Environmental Studies Room, and Conference Facilities. WonderQuest GTA Theatre for Young Audiences is the only professionally-produced theatre in NE Georgia dedicated exclusively to enriching and empowering young audiences and their families through the experience of live theatre. Literature-based plays focus (often hilariously) on the connections between us all.
     Each production offers eight matinees to school audiences; one evening and one Saturday matinee to family audiences. Open Auditions.
     They also offer outstanding Outreach Programming (Living History and Literature Alive!) into the schools of NE Georgia.
